Has anyone worked in such a position before? Is it hectic and horrible, or is it okay?

I've seen heaps advertised lately, all with great hours I could work around with uni, but I dont want to be stuck in a horrible job... I'm also afraid of catching various sicknesses/diseases off patients :(

Any experiences (or hearsay) would be appreciated! :D

Nah, you don't get sick at all. The job usually just involves getting a file name off a computer, getting the file and sitting back down waiting for the next patient.

You soon get bored of it, but it's good experience.

I reckon you'd develop an immunity pretty quick. My parents own a long day care centre for lil kids and often the workers might get sick for the first weeks/month but then they have an excellent immune system :uhhuh:

I reckon it would be a pretty cushy job, if reception is your thing. Partic. good if you're a health student.
