hey everyone, today in my maths exam i finished half an hour early.. so after 13 minutes of boredom, and random drawings i began a poem... to the class of 2007 i present....

Time of Life

Haha, i just made up that title then.. anyway, let me know what you think.. but don't be too harsh.. remember, it has been a long week of exams, i had just finished a maths exam and i had 17 minutes....

17 minutes the wall says
My rebellion against society tells eleven
The wall may be wrong, but it must be obeyed
For it is the beginning, middle and end.

15 minutes; hurry up my brain silently screams
Pens run, papers dance
Radioactive fears of insecurity and failure fill the room.
Thoughts of 'is it worth it?', 'whats the point?'
Begin to circulate

13 minutes, 'cough, cough'
is heard. Shock waves of noise hit the walls
and do little to stem the flow of mathematical equations
Calculators tap, backs crack
Nearly there.

11 minutes for some.
71 minutes for others.
We no longer have names; we are numbers
Intelligence in told in time
Who has more
Who finishes first
Time to accept defeat

9 minutes. Holidays. Freedom. School Work.
Freedom becomes oxymoronic
We are not free
Forever bound by homework, assessments, major works, exams.

7 minutes; exams over
One cannot grasp complete insecurity, constant guilt, fear of failure, desire for escape until faced with the H.S.C
'Let me out' 30 surrounding minds begin.
'I don't care', they continue
We do care, we can't be let out.
We want this, we need this, we suffer for this

5 minutes, not long now
soon it will be trials.
Then final exams.
Then, they say, we really will be free.
I disagree.
Free from school, exams and work.
But trapped by more: rent, jobs, uni, money.

3 minutes; nearly finished
Nearly over
Nearly free
but to where?
We are forever trapped in insecurity, guilt, fear and desire

Good luck 2007ers!!

Eh, it sums up the HSC pretty well. Not bad for 15 minutes. Maybe I should leanr to be more creative in my spare exam time.

i found it...

I'm trying to do my history exam
But sitting here tummy and head in pain
I can't finish it, I can't concentrate
I really feel like I'm going insane

The teachers at the front watching us
I catch his eye and put up my hand
I ask him if I can get a panadol
He says no, I wish he'd understand

I really need something for the pain
I feel so weak it's hurting like hell
Half an hour to go I just can't wait
I need the panadol now can't they tell?

15 minutes to go till the end
I wish it would go really fast
My head still hurts and so does my tummy
I just wish it would go away at last

ahahahaha lamorama!!! lol

I'm writing a poem regarding my reaction to my half yearly results.

Expect emo standards and cliches.

I'm impressed you managed to write that in 15min. Try doing it in the HSC exam, lol.

Modern History, I think it was, when I ran out of things to say but I didn't write a poem on the spot. I just remembered this poem I wrote once and decided to write a verse of it on every page. I maintain it helped my marks. ;)

Awesome... I usually draw pictures, but then I tend to write down to the wire anyway. Except when we get three hours to do an IPT exam where we haven't done one of the units... so, an hour spent sitting. :)
