I've been trying to investigate these errors, it occurs in Windows Media Player too, but i know that majority of Music files off P2P clients are all protected and when it plays the same thing occurs as ur problem does, becoz its protected, but im not sure. I was thinking it was a minor software glitch but it couldnt happen to WMP as well as Winamp lol.. so im inclined to say its the file.

but Winamp 3 itself was quite buggy anyways, i think 2.8 is the best.

2.91 ;)

Blatant plug
I have been a very happy iTunes user for the past few weeks (months?) since it was first released. I have uninstalled Winamp for good, and I only ever use WMP9 for video clips.

Winamp 5 seems good even in early beta stage. alot faster than 3.

i still prefer WMP9 though. nothing beats the WMP9 media library

Winamp 3.0 experiences drop outs in between songs due to RAM or Virtual RAM...

I think (I assume) that by setting the RAM and CPU usage to REALTIME it should correct the issue. If you have windows XP or 2000, try changing your Virtual RAM and theme settings.

XP may look good, but its themes can lag you.

Depends on your RAM. :)

Agree, i would never change the priority level of a process, unless i really have closed down every app and wanted just to leave the PC for a conversion and it was extremely important other than that hell no!

Hmmm yes it can, so we're all waiting for Longhorn, which will be vector rendered visual styles, (btw people should start calling it visual styles, rather than themes, because they are two different things) :)
