Hey, I inputted my expected marks into Talent 100's calculator and Matrix, and they gave some pretty wildly different results. I got my report from Matrix, but it seemed to compare with the 2019 cohort (~93 atar). I tried out talent 100 and for the same marks I got about 95 for 2021 atar. Could this be because matrix relied on 2019 data, whereas talent 100 used 2020's data? Also, iyo, in terms of difficulty was 2021, closer to 2020 or 2019? thanks

It does indeed seem like the Matrix ATAR calculator uses 2019 data. If one picks English Advanced and inputs a mark in the band 6 zone, the calculator will mention that there were 3404 students who achieved a band 6. However, this data is consistent with band 6 data for 2019, not 2020, in which there were 3518 students who achieved a band 6 in English Advanced.

The Talent 100 ATAR calculator most likely uses up-to-date information to calculate your ATAR, while HSCninja are yet to update their ATAR calculator using 2020 data.

I hope this helps! :D
