a farmer plans to fence a rectangular pasture adjacent to a river. the pasture must contain 180,000 square meters in order to provide enough grass for the herd. what dimensions would require the east amount of fencing if no fencing is needed along the river?

since, i am given 180,000 SQUARE METERS this means that i am given the area right? and all i have to do is figure out the (length x width)??

no need to take the derivative?

i thinking that this is suppose to be harder than it actually is.

thanks

Haha. You are never too young to be differentiating.

I will second your solution Aerath...

But probably worth noting that the solution for x is actually plus/minus 300, however it is really the positive value because it is a distance.

Just for the sake of correctness
