Hey guys, I'm currently working on my Prelim Major Project documentation and am currently a bit confused regarding Ease of Use vs Ergonomics.

From my understanding, Ease of Use is how "easy" the software is to use, while Ergonomics is how "comfortable" it is. However, a lot of features seem to overlap between these categories, and I was wondering if anyone had a more concrete definition.

For example, my textbook gives the following examples:

Ease of UseErgonomics
Provision of Keyboard ShortcutsAppropriate User Messages
Use of WhitespaceUse of Colour

How would User Messages be part of Ergonomics? And what's the difference between Whitespace and Colour?

Ergonomics isn't just how comfortable it is. Ergonomics is the study which links the software to the user and their work environment. Appropriate user messages are in ergonomics because it makes the software more intuitive, instead of having an error message that displays a bunch of 0's and 1's. Appropriate user messages can also be included in Ease of use...
