because english ext 2 is done, am i allowed to drop english extension 1 or so you have to maintain the 4 units??

No. You have to maintain it for your 4U mark to count.

One way to look at it is what is the absolute requirement to do Ext 2 English? That is Ext 1 English so for Ext 2 to continue to count Ext 1 has to be completed.
