do any of u guys know how penrith dux is calculated for year 9. is it only the academic/ core subjects (maths, eng, sci, his, geo) or the less academically based subjects too (mus, va, tech, pdhpe)

I don't go to Penrith but there could be an award criteria document on your school’s website. At my school, the ‘dux’ is inclusive of every subject, and 2 unit courses are weighted twice as much as 1 unit courses (for prelim and HSC) while everything is weighted the same for years 7-10.

Did you get first in year 7 or 8? Also it doesn't really matter
