If it asks you "Outline the contribution of Davy, Arhennius and Bronsted and Lowry on acids and bases" were asked and it was a 7 marker question

Would this answer be sufficient:

- Davy proposed all acids contain hydrogen
- Arhennius proposed all acids are hydrogen ion donors and base was hydroxide ion donors
- But not all base donates hydroxide ion and he didn't take into account the strength of the solvent hence his definition on acid and base was too narrow
- Brosted-Lowry proposed that acids were proton donors and base was proton acceptors
- This definition further led to the notion of amphiprotic substances

- Arhennius definition only dealt with strong acids and hydroxide bases whilst Bronsted-lowry definition dealt with the strong and weak acids....

What else would I have to talk about ?

tonnes more to talk about, mention importance of solvent in BL theory, perhaps reasons why the theories were limited (kinda covered it i.e not all acids contained H+ ions, use of solvent, bases not containing OH-, etc) and these limitations ende dup developing the next set of theories
