i think they just rip into you even more. instead of talking about all muslims, they continue to diss you as a muslim alone.

Not actually sure. One of my flatmates hates me and avoids me, it could be because I'm white (since I haven't done anything to her and she never tried to talk to me unlike other asian flatmates) or I intimidate her.

I'm hoping its the latter.

i am attacked by racists about once every month. most of them are childish teenagers.

I'm far too involved in politics for my own good, so I've met a lot of people who whinge about discrimination. Problem is, they look for discrimination where it doesn't exist. Women who think they're disadvantaged because they don't have dicks. Gay-identifying people who think they're disadvantaged because nobody else is gay. But the commonality among most of these people is that they are, for the most part, white (or at least european-descendant). And if they aren't, then they're textbook examples of people who are out for pity.

Being of Chinese descent, I'm tempted to say that yes, I've faced racism in society. Hell, I'll even use it in a debate if I think it'll get me leverage. But the fact is that the I've only faced racism twice in my twenty years. Twelve years ago, when a bunch of lebs wanted to beat me up (they regretted it, because as we all know, all asians know the Martial arts), and ten years ago, when I had a racist teacher. And she was just pissed off because I was smarter than her. Other than that, I've felt pretty much a part of the Aussie community.

hmmm, yes i have felt it before, most were one-offs, only a few were what u could call offensive. i hate being called by my race, like if you're lebanese someone u don't know will call out to you "hey lebbo!", or if you're asian they'll yell out "hey asian girl!". i'm just like, thanx a lot mate. its not that really offensive, but damn annoying. usually only the people u can tell are total losers do it.

I've never been racist in my life! Not even once!

In year 11, my lebanese friend took me to his christian church which is an arabic one - hence only arabs go there - and I have blonde hair and white/pink skin so i stood out, but my friend said because i was with him, that they wouldn't touch me There i met some racist lebs - they hate us as much as we hate them

I think the local media is totally racist. Every local tv program and tv star in Australia is 99.99% anglo. I never see any asian main characters or asian celebs in Australian entertainment media.

Compared with America they have much more representation for their black minority such as black tv shows or black celebrities such as 'my wife and kids', 'opah winfrey show', 'cosby show' 'fresh prince of bel air', celebs such as Will Smith, Usher, Oprah, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Snoop Dogg, Halle Berry etc

true, we are fairly behind on a media representation of our society. but that show "we can be heroes" was damn good.
