Only the Outstanding Achievement is the only equivalent of a Scientia Scholars Scholarship or Co-op Program at UNSW.

UNSW has lotsa money, yes. But it ultimately comes down to what course/faculty you are interested in, and what university has to offer. UNSW offer more flexible contact hours, and more scholarship, of course... USyd offer a lot better UG programmes in certain area.

And rumour has it, that Overseas students tend to goto UNSW more than USyd.
Oh, forgot to mention, we have hobos, UNSW doesn't.

USYD is ranked around 30-40 in the world. The Western Sydney University is ranked... out of 500 range, I guess?

Australia's top university is ANU. (Australia National University)

It is ranked around 10-15.

UNSW is also ranked around 30-40.

On a side note, Melbourne University is ranked about 20-30. It is the 2nd best in terms of ranks.

UQ is pretty good too, ranked about 50-60.

um... it probably is. According to a renowned British institute, USYD is ranked about 4th in Asia-Pacific region. (first is Hong Kong University, ANU, Tokyo University and USYD)

But it really depends on different institutes. Your source might be from different institute. There is one Chinese source saying that ANU is like 30 with USYD being about 50th.

i think stas is thinking of the THES ranking from a couple of years ago which put usyd at 5th globally for arts and humanities. the year after that we dropped about 15 places, which shows how shit their methodology is.

anyhow, all rankings are more or less useless except to get a very general idea of where universities are placed, so you might as well just ignore them.
