I was always terrible at English, ranking in the 130s for each internal assessment. I then realised exactly what was dragging me down - my adapatation to questions were trash because my essay itself was restricting me. Thus after improving that I received 51/193 in trials and my overall rank for english jumped to 108/193. As my school only gets about 40 band 6s, my chance to get a b6 was slim but I improved my essays to be extremely adaptive to scrape a 94 external with 85 internals, thus clutching a band 6 for english (one of 44 people who did receive b6 at my school this year).

Can I just ask what your strategy for Eng Adv was for externals? Preparation / did you memorise??? Seeing as it's four days out for us do you have any tips (I'm just looking to memorise rn and then adapt on the day), and seeing as you sound like you had great baseline essays (as much as I'd love to buy them - no point if I'm using my ones very soon).......
tldr what was your English strategy?

memorised everything 2 weeks before start period and grinded previous hsc/trial papers for adaptations. Tips i guess is to just not forget your essay as thats game over lol. That was my most dreaded fear and cuz i wanted to memorise everything i started really early (as soon as trials finished and fixed up the essays).

Ohh yeah i wanna mention for paper 1 i did the common mod essay first cuz i write essays really fast. Finished in like 30 mins and i knew it was a banger essay so i got super confident to do short answer in 1 hour and got TOO confident and got sht lol. Anyways my reasoning is that when u look at the short answer visuals u automatically thinking about it when u write ur essay. And ur essay pretty much cant be changed when you write it down but the short answer you can just write 'extra paper' and rewrite the whole response to make it better.

How do you even remember the exact essay u wrote in the HSC? Was it a pre planned essay you memorised because your exaggerating right?
