Just a reminder that there are a fair few companies out there currently recruiting students for their summer vacation programs for students in their 2nd last year of their degrees.

Have a look at this website to get an idea of some of these companies: http://www.graduateopportunities.com/

Here are some companies offering vacation positions:
- Ernst & Young: http://www.ey.com/Global/content.nsf/Australia/_Careers_-_Student
- Accenture: https://careers3.accenture.com/Careers/Australia/graduateshome/
- CBA: http://about.commbank.com.au/group_display/0,1922,NI3153%255FCH3153,00.html
- Deloitte: http://careers.deloitte.com/gateway.aspx
- Grant Thornton: http://www.grantthornton.com.au/Sydney/c_index.asp
- KordaMentha: http://www.kordamentha.com/careers/vacationer.aspx
- KPMG: http://www.kpmg.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=802
- PwC: http://careers.au.pwc.com/hr/careerweb.nsf/docid/F5C61764433E9BCDCA25687900122570

...and other firms like BDO, PKF, etc. Maybe someone else can post up some more links. These firms are mainly for Business and IT students, so if anyone knows any for other fields then please post them here.

RE: other firms, In the Commerce/Business sub forum Jasee has posted a topic called Top 100 Accounting Firms.

http://community.boredofstudies.org/462/commerce-business/118673/brw-top-100-accounting-firms-list-2006-a.html

Most of them would be offering vacation work, so just go to their websites and check it out, starting from the biggest firms.

The opportunites aren't limited to Accounting students for those firms, other stuff like Actuarial, Economics, Finance, IT, Science are (occasionally) taken.

Most accounting vacation programs are closing on the 6th of September, so get in quick. It's sometimes better to apply early!

If you're apply to the EY vacation program, feel free to ask me some questions, but not on the night before :p

Yeh it would be good. You get to meet heaps of people currently working here and you get free food, lol. They'll give you advice on how to write your application too (if you ask around). If you already know what division you want to go into and know enough about it to write a good application, then its up to you if you want to go.

You're probably too late for this current summer. Normally from December to early Feb.

Some places also include a standdown period for Christmas, New Year's.
