technician are usually more specialized and usually have some level of formal education (diploma, bachelors) and are in more specialized industries like computing, diesel mechanic etc

tradies are in more construction related fields and usually have basic education (tafe, maybe high school or trade cert) such as carpenter, plumper, boilermaker, etc

i guess they could overlap in some cases

So,
Technician = more smarter and have an higher education ?
Tradesmen = more dumber and have an lower education ?

And do you think an technician more resembles an engineer then an tradesman ?

i wouldn't really use the words smarter and dumber. like for example im a technician right now but i don't have nearly as much experience as some qualified tradesmen.

and yea some technician roles directly require an engineering degree
