Case studies on the Australian Press Council Website could work very well as interesting related texts for TTT.

http://www.presscouncil.org.au/

Also, if you could get your hands on video tapes of the excellent TV show Fine Line that recently screened on SBS, it would be a great related text. it was hosted by Ellen Fanning and explored journalistic ethics with case studies and interviews with journalists.

As I have mentioned previously, if you can get your hands on a course reader for a journalism course there is tons and tons of stuff in those that would be useful.

The magazine Reportage, published by the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism (at UTS) also contains some interesting articles sometimes that could be useful. http://www.reportage.uts.edu.au

Another magazine that contains some good articles on journalism and ethics is Walkley Magazine: http://magazine.walkleys.com/

There are a few other topics that you could try searching for articles on, such as cash for comment (laws/jones controversy), pressures placed on embedded journalists and impact on the truth, abc bias accusations, etc.

Also, last year I used the book To Kill a Mockingbird and the film Evil Angels (Lindy Chamberlain film) and they worked well.

That's all I can think of for the moment, if I come across any more I will post them.

The Anna Wood's story, the book "Anna's Story" by Bronwyn Donaghy (sp?). That was a good piece of related material.

if you're doing Ted Hughes, look at some of Sylvia Plaths poems.

Last year we got told if you're studying a poem, your related material should be a different medium. But I don't know.

Re: Related Material- Telling the truth

Can anyone suggest some good related texts for the justice game (ie related to revealing the truth through the legal/judiciary system)? most of the ones above seem to be fairly specific for truth in the media, ie Frontline

I answered your other thread, but I'll say it here too for others. It doesn't have to be Sylvia and Ted related.

Another great book is "The New Rulers of the World" by Pilger, it would be great for this elective.
