Are you sure 2(a)(vii) is correct? I keep getting the coordinates of C as (2,6)

It should be (2,6).

I've got the MANSW solutions. They gave them to me when I went to their HSC markers feedback day.

how do you do vii) ??
Well you already know the x-coordinate of C (all points on l have x-coordinate 2). You have the gradient (from ii) and since you know that AC is perpendicular to AB, you can find the gradient of AC (take negative reciprocal of the gradient of AB). Remember that gradient is equal to m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1), so you can sub. in what you know to find the y-coordinate of C.
