Did anyone understand the world cup question about the crowd, i totally stuffed it! General maths should be 3 hours if theyre going to start making the exams harder....the multi choice were really easy so i guess that makes up for it...oh well...NO MORE MATHS!!!!!!!!!

the a and b constants werent actually constants .. they were constants in reference to each set of data...

a = the crowds initial size and b = the rate of which the crowd dispersed.
therefore..

if we want N = 0 then
0 = 60000 - 2000x30

we got the 2000 from dividing 60 000 by the amount of minutes.. therefore, 2000 people leave every minute.. and after 30 minutes we have 60 000 gone.. thus giving us 0...

a) i)
a= 60,000, the Original number in the stadium, the y-intercept.

ii) 1) b = 60,000/30 = 2000
2) the value of b in this situation represents the amount of people who exit per minute, or the gradient.

iii) t = (a-N)/b

iv)
t = 10000/2000
t = 5 mins

v) more gradual decline after 15 minutes, meaning people leaving alot slower.

i thought the question was alright...
as long as you knew to find a and b by making x n y =0...
better than the mexico question!!!!.....
