Damn we never got taught that method, what did everyone get for the plane one, calculate the dragDamn it. >.< I just realised I multiplied instead of divided the Ohm's law question. I still had the right working at least.
Bdogz, auxiliary method.
But I didn't have a ruler for the exam, so I just estimated one line to be just under 7cm, and since the scale was 1:100 (I hope) I went for 8m.
Diameter was 18mm i think by memory?
And yes True length WAS 8m..
Ohh and can someone post up both the correct answers for the drawings?
That is where i reckon i lost most my marks, the rest was relatively easy
i got 57mm for the diameter i think, in the 50s anyway. for the drag i think i got 250 something?? i think u just drew up a triangle with downward line for weight, an across line thing for the combine of drag and thrust, and an upward line for lift to make an equilibrium. then u can calculate lift using pythagoras or something and divide by 8 to get the drag.AHH shit i got like 57 mm..
Dude it b a little hard to draw them from top of your head.
Why did you divide or multiply by 2?yes i did think it was too big but i did it twice and that's what i got. i remember multiplying my final answer by 2, maybe it was meant to be divided by 2. i forget why. btw, why doesnt engineering have its own exam thoughts section, i always thought it was a popular subject
i think i got around 18mm diameter...yes i memorized from previous questions that every area given in mm is x10^-6 but like you said its likely im wrong since a 57mm bolt would be pretty tank, what did you get for it?
also about q9, i put d because i remember we use copper in pipes because they dont corrode yet someone posted it was c?
Wow, you got it spot on... Picture memory?I don't trust myself to do it properly, so here's the original with dimensions (excusing my very rough sketching):
95% certain it's correct.
I'll add the other one in a minute.
Picture memory? I wish, it's just because I had to draw them. I'd do the answers but I'm fairly certain I'll make mistakes as I'm not quite up to par with the standards. I'm pretty sure I made mistakes in the exam on this.Wow, you got it spot on... Picture memory?
and and if you could be so kind, to also post the answers
