Anyone else here into them? I'm a pretty big fan.

I think their best album is probably Heathen Earth - DOA is way overrated (only a few good tracks) and The Second Annual Report is a bit samey (obviously). Jazz Funk Greats is good and their new one is fairly cool, but overlong.

Not at all, just as an influence. Although to be anal about it it would be "does Tool sound like them".
i was j/k, although to be fair that doesn't really come across on this board.

i'm a minor fan of tg though i prefer harsher, more physical stuff if i want my fix of noise (kevin drumm, merzbow, et al), or cabaret voltaire for something that's danceable as well. i like them in theory more than in practice.

Sure, I love noisier noise music, but TG have that real souless feel to them and some of their stuff is quite amazing.

I'll try this Heathen Earth album, but I've always found it really difficult to get into their stuff, partly because their discography is a bit daunting.

In that there's a lot of it, or that its all split up into wierd albums, singles, remixes that aren't and soundtracks? I know what you mean, anyway.

i love the earlier albums, the second annual report, 20 jazz funk greats, third annual report, but don't know much else
i think they had an album that came out this year. no idea what their more recent stuff is like and all of later cosey fanni tutti, genesis p-orridge stuff etc. someone told me genesis did rave music . . .

As much as I like Gen, his rave music sucks. Haven't heard Chris 'n' Cosey but Coil with Sleazy is of course great.

Their album this year is "Part Two: the Endless Not" which has some great stuff but also some boring noise pieces. I always thought Third Annual Report was overrated, only four really good tracks on there - Weeping, DOA, Blood on the Floor and Hamburger Lady. Jazz Funk is great though.
