currently I have 12 units (I think.. :|)

- ancient history (2u)
- english standard (2u)
- ipt (2u)
- business studies (2u)
- biology (2u)
- general maths (2u)

if I SOMEHOW failed general maths in hsc (raw, hsc marks) would I be scaled down even if I kept the remaining 10 units?

plus, how much UAI is possible if I got high 80's with my current subjects?

... thanks ;o

only your best 10 units count, so if you 'fail' general maths, then only history, english, ipt, business studies and biology will count
and yes a UAI in the 80s is definitely possible, so study hard and youll be fine

EDIT: i misread the question
if you meant you get 80s as your hsc mark for all the subjects, the expect your UAI to be low to mid 80s, although 80s in std english is considered to be very good

First off, they only take your ten best units to judge your UAI. So no, if you failed something and did better in the other ten, the failed units wouldn't affect your UAI.

And I have no idea for the second part.
