I've looked on this forum a fair bit, but I'm still struggling to understand what Uni life actually involves.

I'd dearly love it if someone could give me their social vs educational timetable and answer these questions:

1) Will I come out of uni with a healthy liver?
2) How frequent are these infamous Uni parties?
3) Nerd question, not mine I swear: How often is multi-xbox Halo 2 played?; and
4) How much wood could a Woochuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?

Uni life can be fun if you want it to be, no one forces you and at the same time no one really informs you unless you go looking for it.

1. I went in without one.
2. Twice a month for me, although some of my more eager friends go once or twice a weekend.
3. Constantly at my house :D
4. According to Richard Thomas, 35 cubic feet, which is 320 kg, of dirt is yanked out of a hole when a wood-chuck burrows. I have no figures wood, sorry, just dirt.

1) No, most definitely not.
2) Well, I'm not on campus, so I don't really know...although, every day is a unibar day.
3) wtf?
4) Not as much as uni students drink!

1) Will I come out of uni with a healthy liver? It's up to you, I lived on campus for first semester and didn't drink, it's up to you on that one. Depends how easy you'd give into peer pressure and the like.
2) How frequent are these infamous Uni parties? I think that depends on the Uni and whether you're on or off campus. While I was on campus they'd have regular parties and shit in the common rooms with some weird drinking games. Also the campus bar held a lot of interesting themed friday-nights every so often.
3) Nerd question, not mine I swear: How often is multi-xbox Halo 2 played?; I only got invited to play it once, so I think it'd depend on the people you befriend and how much they're into halo 2..
4) How much wood could a Woochuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood? Yes..

1) Chances of comming out with a healthy liver is slim to none. Infact the chances of waking up in hospital is a lot higher than this.

2) Well kinda depends, at my campus theres only been about 3 known parties.

3) Halo 2 events seem to happen on a weekly basis, but since im not that much of a halo fanatic i go to them on a monthly basis.

1. Depends. I have put my liver in the freezer until I can trust myself to be responsible with it. After more than 3 years at uni, I still have not reached that point.
2. Well, they are more frequent than infrequent. More parties are usually at the beginning of semester or after exams. The off-peak party time is the week before exams although it still doesn't stop people.
3. I'm yet to see it played, but it could be because the unibar does not cater such events. Plus a good game of Euchre is much better than X-Box.

For most uni's, you really need to live on campus.

during the breaks, we go to the cafeteria and have a coffee/hot chocolate and chat about uni stuff, lecturers, work, etc. etc.

uni gives you a lot more freedom, so you have to have a lot of self-discipline to know when it's time to stop the socialising and start working!! :D (libraries are often good for that, although the education level at strathfield may as well be a social gathering place :p)

the hardest thing i still find is (and this is going to sound really weird  ) being able to leave the premises anytime. i wasn't "jigger" material at school so going to get something from the car or going for a walk between lectures feels strange for me :p that feeling was the first indication i had that uni is about more freedom concerning the choices you make and your own personal goals.

how often you socialise vs how often you actually work is totally dependent on you.

1. as said before thats up to you, i remember when i never drove, i'de drink every tuesday after our stats tute in first year, it was fun... now i don't ever drink at uni.
2. Infamous uni parties... the organised ones right? I think all up i only ever went to two organised ones... and i'm a second year now and i go to more parties outside of my uni social circle than i do in them. I think there's only been 4 parties all up that i've been to that were friends from uni and they wernt all that crazy... they're just normal ... stand around, dance, bon fire, drink if you want to, hook up if u want to. Don't expect a social life at uni to come to you, you have to go find it.

3 and 4 - nooo idea
