I want to gain entry into Medicine, whether it be undergraduate via transfer as a non-standard or postgraduate after my 3 year course.
UWS Adv Sci:
- possibility of gaining first year transfer to UWS Medicine - 6 spots available.. going to be especially competitive this year with the introduction of 2 more adv sci courses.
- atm 5k/yr scholarship over 4 years - totalling 20k
- interview next week for 10k/yr scholarship and aspire leadership program
- Parramatta campus is only 10 mins away - very convenient
- Adv sci is more broad and will enable me to become a secondary teacher (science), or do other post grad studies e.g. physio or nutrition.
UNSW Med Sci:
- possibility of gaining entry into the graduate stream - 15 places
- more prestigious university
- long travel distance
- should prepare me better for GAMSAT?
- with a med sci degree can I teach secondary, do physio or nutrition with further study? like with the adv science course.
Either way, if worst comes to worst: I'd like a course that will:
- prepare me well for GAMSAT
- get me a high GPA/WAM
- have the opportunity to link onto another health-science field or education
I'm doing the UMAT 2 more times and the GAMSAT twice is worst comes to worst.
Any advice - greatly appreciated
