How do you turn off the stupid popup that says "Do you want to continue" every time you do something?

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or off -> Make sure it is OFF.

UAC is just another attempt at Windows trying to copy linux...

(think 'sudo')

It's just bloody nazi, though (Windows UAC), with all the things it blocks. Sure, block system settings changes but don't just block any program that just wants to run! As well as the fact that anyone using day-to-day stuff on a root account deserves what's coming anyway.

That said, maybe Windows is just targetted to a certain audience.... -.-

You format the computer and install *nix over it.
