How did you all find the paper. i thought it simm to 4 unit. most was quite easy, then got a bit trikkier in Q 6. and 7. Actuallt i agree with with the memory thing do some extent because ive seen Q's very sim. to q 6 and 7. i reckon i got about 75-85% .....78%. yeah bout that. was the prob Q with the people on the table 3aii) 4x4!/6! (thats what i put) but i think its
4 x 5!/6!
was the max height of projectil a bit over 10 meters?

Nope

The displacement of the particle from its original position was just over 10. It's maximum height, since it was launched with an initial vertical displacement of 6, was just over 16....

Don't worry, I made the same mistake too...

Nonetheless, I think it's the only mistake I made in this test. I found the number theory a real shock - usually they put that sort of stuff in 4-unit papers. I was wondering where it went.... :)

Most people got different numbers, me 15/1/8 max height. :p

A lot of the 3u/4u questions have similar examples in past papers. sin(-1)rt(x) + sin(-1) (2x+1) was recycled out of something like 1999 papers, with the method reversed. And the 4u one with the regular polygon was from 1989 or something...

If you're good at momery and did lots of past exams, you'll get used to the style AND the methods.

I'm pretty sure I got 16 1/8, but maybe my memory is just bad...

speaking of answers, did anyone else get 1/(3pi) for the rate at which height is increasing in 5(b)(ii)? none of my friends could agree...

ahh... i had that stupid 5 in my final eqn, but i was concentrating on all the calcualator work(a lot of that it the q) that i just left it there. i dont belive so many ppl are getting a raw mark over 90. Do you rekon its genuine, because if it is then this years maths exams seemed to be easy.

it was pretty fair test
had half hour to work on q7 but still got nowhere with most of it

Marks on this forum are very tricky... :D We don' represent the status quo at all, as we form the people who:
a) like to help each other out
b) are willing to spend effort in study by reading over other ppl's notes and stuff, yet
c) are able to spend time here chatting.
Hence, I reckon our marks are higher and at least half of the 90 - 100% will not be faked, because there are 2 distinct people groups here. :p
On the otherhand, look at the gap b'twn the top band and the rest in 4u test...:p
