Anyone know the raw band cutoffs for SOR1 last year or the year before?
Any past SOR1 markers?
How hard do they usually mark, by the way? I got 49 in the Catholic Trial, but I don't think any of the RE teachers at my school have been markers.

Given the low level of difficulty of the course, 43-44 would be the cut-off.

Do you know what the scaling's like?
So 44 would go to 45?
45 = 46
etc?

That's probably wrong and simplistic, but yeah.

I heard 42/50 aligns to around 45/50. (2004 raw marks) Since SOR is a pretty soft cock course.

that was before the syllabus changed though, and it was harder then due to comparative studies. so it might be 43-44 to align to 45 now.
any recent data, anyone?

Im pretty sure 43-44/50 will not be the 'cut-off' for a Band 6, I think its quite a bit lower. Think about the thousands and thousands of people who are forced to do this subject since they go to a Catholic school and just don't try at all.

SOR moderates the same as chemistry and physics

This seems right.

This doesn't. EDIT: SOR II might align a lot more due to its difficutly.

In previous years, chem and physics have had differences between aligned and raw of up to 20 marks.

SOR: 5+ marks please :(

SORII is the same as SOR I, the questions which were in your exam were in ours, the only difference is we do three religious tradition so two 15 markers in section 2 10 more mc another 5 marker and another 20 marker. Talking to teachers at school both SOR I and SOR II scale well

According to the table, I wouldn't say they would scale well - but better than General Maths, Art and Music 1 etc..

Although we have to consider that I don't think scaling is the same thing as aligning.

Aligning = physically changing marks

Scaling = Weighting towards UAI

At least that's what I thought, maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, I meant aligning - like if 43 is the raw cutoff for a band 6, it would be changed to 45.
44 would go to 46, 45=47, etc.

Yeah.

I hope it's 43/50= band 6. I might be able to scrape that.

Yeah good point, because its obvious you have beaten most of the kids that walked out on the hour. Most of them are speds who don'd care.

if you check one of the RAW marks threads from previous years, you can see than 42/50 gets aligned to 46/50.

But this would differ from year to year.
