Well true that HSC has got a lot more memorisation stuff but thinking back to yr10, Is this only me or everyone who thinks some subjects in yr10 was harder than yr11/12 subjects (although u didn't have any choice in picking yr10 subjects)?

I personally perform way better in the prelim and HSC than in SC-in fact in ALL subjects. And I can confidently say that I worked to my best in the SC.

lol! i did a lot lot better in my HSC than my sc.
I didn't study at all for SC and it kinda showed, though i still got band6s for everything.

I found HSC a lot harder to prepare for than SC... Overall I found SC to be pretty easy.

Well it's always possible you're working a lot harder to achieve a high standard of results in Prelim..

SC i did with my eyes blindfolded and still got kick arse results.

HSC i am actually working for as the content is much more demanding as well.

definitely the hsc is harder.

the school certificate is nothing... nearly anyone can pass
and if your not leaving school it doesnt mean anything at all

Your logic is interesting.

Because nearly anyone can pass the HSC as well.

In HSC, they rarely give out aligned marks below 50. (if that's what you assume it to be "pass")

Only few one digit per cent of the entire cohort gets something below 50 aligned marks.

Are you serious?! There was no COURSE in the sc. Nothing needed to be studied, memorised, ect. No essays (just weak 1 pg extended responses).

I dont understand how anybody could have not gotten at least band sixes in everything (if not mid-high band sixes) ... the hsc is much much harder to do well in without study.

HSC all the way. I barely studied for the SC, and passed in the higher bands in most subjects...

HSC...

Don't make me remember.

Not to sound crude, but i can't believe someone actually wasted their time to post this pointless thread in which the answer is so blatantly clear! There can be no comparison made the SC and HSC and even if i was to begin to compare; the list will be endless! I, like many people, have done both and find it absurd that people should make connections. Just do the damn HSC and get over it.
