I found that harder than any past papers I did and that question 14 was the hardest I’ve ever seen.

Any ideas on what 52-56 would align to?

I'd say this year was harder than 2016, and that was a 52/70, so 52-56 would most likely be in the clear for an e4.

previous years it has been around 53/70 so hopefully it's lower this year

Sure you did wayyyy better than I did mate haha.

I'm hoping a 49-54/70 (raw mark) gets bumped to 85. I think you will get an E4 if you got 60-62/70 as a raw mark. : )

Going off the 2009 exam:

A 68/100 was a 90 after alignment.

That would translate to around a 48/70 this year, if the difficulty was judged to be the same.

I think it will be closer to 51,52. On par with 2016 I think but not as difficult as 2009

I reckon 50-51, 2016 question 14 was a bit easier than ours :)

Sounds about right I think although I feel we had a much harder Q14 whilst the rest was pretty standard. So maybe a bit less.

I honestly reckon these are lowballs, like surely mid 70s doens't get E4 in 3U?? That would make 4U scaling insane, like surely 68-70 --> E4 for 4u

Am I just pessimistic? Also don't reckon this exam was as hard as 2009, definitely easier but yeah still hard overall (Only really hard for q14c, everything else was fine EVEN THOUGH I fucked some of it up xD)

yeah a 68-70 in 4u almost definitely E4s this year. in 2013 a 63 went to an 89 for 4U and people compared the difficulty of our exam to that one

Nah I dont think they are lowballs the exams are out of much less too which probably contributes to the lower percentages. Last years exam was much easier and still mid 70s went to an e4

im pretty confident that anything 70+ in that 4u exam will E4. if we're lucky the cutoff might even be as low as ~65/100 or maybe even 64
