wow u are really dumb hahahahahahh
please define dumb. if you are laughing at me, please explain to me why i am wrong!!!!
also, why is religion so bad? what have you got against it? and also, unless you can actually explain to me LOGICALLY what happened before the big bang, then you got to deal with sweeping statements that make up for our own insufficient knowledge because there are things in this universe that we can not explain but that you seem to go 'haha, he's dumb because he is religious'. well, either come up with something that is valid or go back into your void because so far there are religious scientists who ARE quantum physicists and even einstein was one of their ranks. so, unless you have a new ultimately connecting theory (eg: like string theory) then go back and stop making fun unless you can back it up!!!

bad dog, really, is that the best insult you got?

and god is used just like a full stop is, to end a particular line of thinking as our minds have completely no idea what is the origin of the universe, so god is used to stop our weak-minded brains from hurting.

and WTF is that godz gone dunz the universezz, i mean i know how our spelling is going down the toilet thanks to the HSC but really, BAD DOG!! why don't you go into a library, you know, l-i-b-r-a-r-y and learn how to spell. also, saying god created the universe and then left us creates a nice fence-sitting situation for randomists and people who wander about the level of freakin' coincidences to the supreme and the probability of all these factors even happening. even if it was a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance of one event happening, how the heck does it happen consecutively? that is exactly like having consecutive royal flushes out of a 520000 pack again and again in each game. so, go and read or else learn some science (it is s-c-i-e-n-c-e)and come back to me with a more valid explanation than god made the universe( see, u-n-i-v-e-r-s-e), and do not say another big bang. and if you say a black hole, a particle singularity, or some freakin' thesis that does not even make any sense , then come back to this thread because the factors of the make-up of the earth are too freakin' consecutively managing to exist whilst ignoring randomness. because destroying every other person's thesii is completely negligible unless you got one that is more valid than others'. so, where is your oh so great thesis? and it must includew s-c-i-e-n-t-i-f-i-c j-a-r-g-o-n(meaning t-e-c-h-n-o-l-o-g-i-c-a-l words) and reasons why. bewcause i have actually read on the subject whilst all you are doing is going around telling everyone that they are weak minded for saying it is god that did it. and what created god, chuck norris.
Are you fully aware of what you are suggesting as an alternative?
A being which for some reason is exempt from meeting the standards by which you reject evolution.

You claim that the universe is far too complex to have come about entirely through natural processes. Your solution to this is a creator that is far MORE complex, not physically observable, self-contradictory, and just happens to fit conveniently into human history as a device used to explain the constantly shrinking gaps in scientific understanding.

It just isn't an argument at all.

I will not dignify your ciminally inarticulate statments with a proper response, your clammy, childlike rant above makes it clear to us that your the type of person who cannot comprehend, let alone debate, sophisticated concepts.
and btw the burden of proof is on the person making a physical claim, i.e. you, not me.
big fail of an essay.
stay silent

no, god is a simple concept. for example, who do swear at for getting hurt?
constantly shrinking gaps in scientific understanding, oh you mean like your own.

now, there are two ways of looking at god. as a scientist and as an engineer. if he is a scientist, then it explains the big bang's origins, however, ignoring the question about the origins of god. it also gives us randomness and order. however, even if we were to suspect a god even existed, did he pop out of nothing? did the universe pop out of nothing? the true question is, how the heck does something pop out of nothing?

so if god was a scientist, joan of arc was a schizo, elijah was a schizo, all prophets were schizos who hallucinated. and also managed to make everyone believe in their ramblings.

if god was an engineer, then all the prophets are true. but leaves questions open about him ignoring us.

however, my theories are a little bit sketchy at the moment. now i believe that either god left the universe to its own devices after the big bang or the universe is in fact god.
either way, it is still a belief and the problems with beliefs is that you can not rationalise them.

i r-e-a-d, a lot. ask smiletime-351.
comingupforair, you really need the oxygen fast. and please, i am begging you, come up with something better, shodan did, cookie did(you have seen me recommend books, haven't you?) and smiletime_351. now, i am sure that you are nowhere within their league nor am i, but please, try something with more material. actually, i believe the better insults are more concise.

and the level of randomness is killing me!!!

also, how many times, do i say, EXPLAIN!!!! oh, and elaborate. if i am so naive, then illuminate me with the great knowledge, enlighten me, shine the great knowledge upon me, teach me, make me learn, lecture me, tutor me, because people telling me off with no explanation except dieburndie (who actually did finally explain something wrong with my arguments). all university students should know this, and start teaching me.

The desire to know God is eternally written on every man's heart. We are drawn to this force which offers the foundational Truth of all existence. To trust and love the Lord in this life grants us peace and expectation of eternal happiness.

We look across cultures over time and safely conclude that man is inherently a religious being. Without Him, we endure a void that is never fully satisified by the material pleasures of the world. We are never at peace until we find Him and he never rests in calling us to Him!

Man is convinced of God through his experience of the physical world and the human person.

The world’s order and beauty satisfies our quest for God. His invisible nature is clearly perceived in the things that have been made. The changing beauty of the world clearly points to the Beautiful One who is the incorruptible, unchanging root cause behind this.

In seeking God, man in his freedom, openness to truth and beauty, his sense of moral goodness and his longing for the infinite and happiness, man naturally questions himself about whether God exists. In so doing, he discovers his spiritual soul – the seed we bear in ourselves, irreducible to the merely material, which has its origin only in God.

a belief is an irrational thought, good or bad, so as such cannot be explained.
also, what happened to spyro? and thankyou iron for the speech about man's need for god. and also, where are all of your theories. if this is a discussion, and not a close-minded obsession like kill random_dude, then please disclose your views, iron and dieburndie, i thank you.

and also, comingupforair, really long posts aren't essays, they are just big blogs. and how the heck is the burden of proof on me, im just the guy spouting irrational concepts knowing that those who are rational have to go out of their way to prove me wrong. :p

This thread has gotten out of control, might as well be relabeled "another flame thread between theists and atheists"

How can anyone get anything out of this thread if you dismiss one anothers arguments? Try and keep an open mind, and stop sledging other users

Hehe, it was going well but it's meant to be focusing on the rationality of religion.

There's no room for compromise on questions of religion. You may be free to chop and change your beliefs willy nilly depending on your fickle interests - drifting in the wind as it were! - but we are firmly grounded oaks, comforted with an eternal Truth that no man can corrupt.

So you should dilly dally some more and by all means compromise with yourself - frequently! - until you decide to join our ranks of the intergalactic Empire - soon to Strike Back! - watch this space...

Is your intergalactic empire called religion? Your post confuses in certain places :D haha. You speak in metaphor far too often for my liking.

kinda going of the topic but some people don't believe the bible which is thousands of years old how come they choose to believe something else that happened long ago without facts ?
