Even if the cops wanted to tackle the problem (and they don't, due to their role as capitalism's hired thugs), they are incapable of it. Study after study shows that the police as a group are the most racist people in any society. They concentrate all the racism needed for the operation of Australian capitalism in their own mentality. Of course we support demands that recognise that police racism is a problem. But this can never the basis of a serious solution.

The ineffective and often racist response to the attacks from the Victoria Police show that we need a community solution, not a police solution. The rally last Sunday was a good start to this, putting the whole of Melbourne on notice that the problem is not one of a few isolated attacks, but of widespread racist violence. Such rallies can put political pressure on the Government to deal with the attacks.

based on what i saw on new years the problem is with lads. i was tailing a group of lads waiting for a brall to take a photograph of, everytime they wlaked passed a group of indians they just went nuts, but they didn't start anything because coppers everywhere. lol they went crazy repeatedly each time they passed a group of Indians.

Ok yea some attacks are racially motivated....BUT some of them aren't.
Most of the guys that get attacked asked for it some way or another. Most of
them are hella annoying, walk around in large groups and and simply piss everyone off.
