Go for Feedbacker and Flood, I have the samish music taste as you, those albums are very post-rock droney compared to thinks like Pink. They've covered alot of genres in their 20 or so albums.

Seeing we're on the topic of Japanese bands, check out Mutyumu. I have their album il y a and some of the stuff on there is seriously mind-blowing. Really pretty, really intense piano work, strings, female vocalist, blasts, screams (but not on this song). Check em;
