Just wondering why you hated it so much? I thought it was a great read...
I just thought it was confusing and cause i didnt understand it, i didnt enjoy it. Yeah it has pretty good themes that the author wants the readers to think about, like racism, social hierocracy, conflict, beliefs and the effect of the great depression; but just the way it was written it didnt appeal to me...kinda crap, lol :p

Yeah, I see your point. I wasn't a huge fan of the start, but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it.

Worst: Not much of a novel, but Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad. Apparently its a very good story, but even reading 15 or 20 pages would leave me with a headache. I would look forward to doing maths in the break. Mind you, reading is not one of my favourite things to do.

Worst: I thought it was To Kill a Mockingbird (boring), but then we read Heart of Darkness... everything I ever read from now on will seem so much more intereting!

I liked In Cold Blood and I did the Catcher in the Rye as a related text thing, which I loved. Can't think of any horrible novels, some books were really dry and boring but not necessarily bad.

a lot of people hated "the old man and the sea" by ernest hemingway when we did it in year 10, but i legitimately think its one of the most beautifully told stories of all-time.
