I got 0 in the exam, because the teacher said mine was too much detail.

I have no idea what to include and what to omit.

Any tips?

Could you give us the question so we can walk you through the steps?

A context diagram identifies data entering & the information leaving the system. The external entities are the source (where the data comes from) & the sink (the destination of the information). The circle is used to represent a system. A simple context diagram would be: SOURCE(Square) ------>(data entering system)SYSTEM(CIRCLE)------>(information leaving the system) SINK(Square).
Remember that context diagrams identify the data entering & information leaving. Keep it simple. Don't include any verbs.

Data Flow Diagrams, or DFDs, describe the movement and changes in data between processes. DFDs describe the change in data as it passes through processes. The squares still represent the external entities. This time the circle represents a process. This usually begins with a verb such as 'filter'. There is also a rectangle with the right side missing & that represents a data store. An example of a data store is a database as it stores information.

Not necessarily. In a context diagram most people add too much detail to the arrows. You are only supposed to identify the data entering & information leaving. No verbs.

For context diagrams & DFDs? That is incorrect. You need to identify where the data is going & information is leaving as well as the source, sink & info system or process. It's a tool to help people building projects & it's supposed to be simple, not detailed.

Lol. That probably explains why. Has she had any experience with HSC marking?

I can't believe that you had a lesson on how to use email. Even my cousin in year 5 knows how to do that.

Yes, she said she did some HSC marking.

Honestly I don't know why she bothers teaching us stuff like that. All of class is completely computer literate yet we do lessons on such simple basics.

Just another reason to drop it.

lol the funny thing was the lesson on email explain how to send emails and what emotions were( :), ) so funny, the lesson also explained how people many write abbrivations.

I'm pretty sure how to use email isn't in the syllabus at all. I can understand why you would drop it now, especially when your teacher isn't teaching you stuff you need to know but is teaching you stuff you already know.

Sounded like a fun lesson. :p

It was.

She uses a vvery old textbook (2004 I believe ) and it follow the old syllabus.

She also once spent 4 lessons on how to use Excel, Word and Access (She only taught the basics )

Currently we are at the 7 system processes.

You should be using the Sam Davis textbook which is the only textbook for IPT with the 2008+ syllabus. There's also Excel but that's more of a summary.

You should be past the 4 system processes. You should probably be doing Developing Information Systems by now.
