hey guys, just wondering when and how to apply for the PWC cadetship/ traineeship as I am currently in my 1st year of university and am doing the EY tests tonight, any help would be greatly appreciated :)))
I don't think PwC has actually opened up its applications, however I may be wrong.

I think the plan is that they'll have people email in applications directly but whether or not that's started I don't know.

So I just finished my video interview with BDO. All the questions were generic interview questions, there weren't many questions asking about my traits tho, it was more geared towards what I knew about auditing and why I want to become one. I did those fairly well but I don't think I sold myself that well on behavioral side.

Presumably there will be a face to face interview after where they can ask the other stuff? Or was your video interview the only stage?

From what I've heard, its online application -> automated interview -> psychometric -> face interview -> offer

Out of interest, what were your general thoughts in terms of the format of the automated interview? Do you feel that a phone easier would have been easier/more challenging?

I would feel alot more comfortable with a phone call, theres something about an automated interview that is just too unnatural. I was given time limits for the questions, for example a "tell me about yourself" was 1.5 min, a "did you apply for other firms" was a 1minute and they gave me a few other generic interview questions and the last question gave me 2 minutes to add any additional comments. If i were given a phone interview I rekon I wouldve been alot less nervous and I would be able to give a more well rounded description of myself, i felt like the automated interview limited myself. but thats just me

I absolutely hated the video interview stage for applications. Its really awkward as you can't assess facial expressions or body language since there's no interviewer.

Friends have shared similar feedback - glad I missed out on the video interview stages haha!

Can do this with a phone interview also - however the interviewer can usually tell!
Awkward moment when I accepted my mini-phone interview whilst on an excursion at parliament house... Didn't know when they asked "Are you available to talk?" that they wanted to ask me a bunch of questions...

Nah bro. U gotta be smart about it. Gotta read it with some expression. Try to have a few pauses to make it natural. In video interviews. They usually give some time to prepare before it starts recording, this is where i find my prepared answer. To avoid them seeing me look left to right on the screen as if i was reading, i just simply narrow the margins in to squeeze the text down the middle so im always looking straight.

Apply HSC Rote learning skills to panel interviews.
Pretty much. We all generally know what the questions will be/done our research. For the unexpected questions that's where we wing anyways

Received an email today from EY for the online testing, but I have had no response from other firms that I have applied at. Is this the case for anyone else?

That was the case for my friend.
I received a successful email from BDO and a rejection from HLB.
