Variety X migrated while variety Z was the highest population at the time.

For section two - i said there was a change in the environment on the island which leads to a different characteristic more fit for survival. Since didnt completely go down and population stabalised i said the majority of the island changed but some of the island remained the same.

in the question it said there was no change in the environment, btw

yeh it must have been a change in physical or chemical environment

Migration. It did ask for 2 birds that originally migrated to the island so i assume that variety x migrated in after 100 generations

what does everyone reckon about the difficulty of this exam compared to previous years? Reckon it will align well or shit this year? It seems MC tripped some people up. According to the raw mark database, 2013 bio seemed to have aligned really badly but all other years, 80% + aligned to band 6.

Honestly rushed the multiple choice (about 5-10 minutes). I focused a lot on the short response and long response questions.

Im so thankful to whoever said that contrast question of phloem and arteries. I would not have got that if i hadn't seen it yesterday. I smashed that question

The 8 marker was SOOO NICE...pretty much based off a question we did in the marathon as well.

Multiple choice I'm dissapointed with...i think i got 18/20. All past multiple choice rom 2007 to 2014 i got full marks so its a bit of a let down but oh well.

Pulse oximetry question --> the last part sorta screwed me over, only expecting 2/4.

So pissed i didn't finish the EASY communication 7 marker (my hand was tingling and hurting and i couldn't write that fast throughout exam), had to cut it short, so probably only 4/7 for that.

Rest of communication was sinch --> lucky they didn't have anything major on the brain. Was a bit surprised there were no practicals for communication but w/e.

Hoping for a raw 90% but i reckon the marking guidines are gonna be really strict because it was an easy exam, so maybe around 85 raw and like 88 aligned. Which isn't too bad but i really wanted that band 6. Would have preffered a harder exam

personally i think the bench mark they will set this year for a band 6 will be around 70, a lot lower than previous exams for bio

They're probably just saying that to be honest. I mean that's what all the smart people say then they act surprised when they get state rank.

at a rank 107th school we found it easy, but im dissapointed in myself for not doingg better.

Should have finished that 7 marker on comunication..it was soo easy.

And realised i made another mistake in multiple choice so i only got 17/20

I think that the population started at zero because one was born with a mutation...that was favourable + population of this new variety grew as the others declined b/c new variety were better competitors on something...

What was the process of the model of DNA. I put dna replication but wasnt sure what it was.

yeah i did DNA replication, was that the third question for section 2? but not sure on my answer. this biology test is going to ruin me, i just got home and am thinking of better answers i could have written

i dont think so, i think you were meant to talk about myopia and hyeroptia and lens to fix that
