For English paper 1, would anyone recommend doing section 1 last? Personally it takes me the longest to do, and I feel like I should be able to get my creative done in a little less than 40 mins, so I was thinking that it might be better to leave section 1 last so that I could use that extra time.

Thoughts?

I would do section 1 first because:

1). The reading time you get
2). Easiest marks to effort ratio

Imo, with the creative you can still get good marks with relatively less time compared to the other sections (like time/effort/length does not always correspond to marks, whereas in the short answers it's very clear cut => 1 mark = 1 point/analysis). Especially since you said it takes you longer to do the other section, if you do it first, you can always cut down the time you allocate for your creative but if you do it the other way around and run out of time it's game over. Personally, I found it easier rushing through a creative than rushing through analysing cancerous texts.

For people that do physics the equation to calculate g-force (if Im correct) is g force is (g+a)/g.

With g being 9.8. But this isnt on the sheet so not sure if i did it right.

G force is apparent weight/actual weight

Which is (mg+ma)/mg cancel out the m and you get (g+a)/g which can be simplified further to 1+a/g.

Its good to know what g force actually is as opposed to being a formula monkey in physics

I thought that for paper 1, it was best to attempt the essay question first because the ideas of your text(s) and analysis are "fresh" (and are hard to remember at times) and if you use it ASAP then you won't need to spend time later remembering your analysis, quotes, etc

If you've memorised your stuff properly you won't have any trouble tbh

Short answer responses are really doing the question on the spot without any sort of preparation. All doing practice short response questions does is that it makes you familiar with the questions, the style and the structure of your answers but it really never helps you with whats actually coming up in the exam

I never did it that way. During that time whilst I did read my unseen texts it was so unproductive and I generated literally no ideas and wanted to fall asleep.

Yeah its always 20-30 mins left for creative for me haha.

While short answers are mostly irrelevant, the paper usually has a sort of theme that ties it together. The main advantage for me with doing short answers first was that it was easy marks and sort of like a warm up to get myself into the whole discovery mindset. After doing it i felt more ready to bull shit and adapt my knowledge for the longer answers (essay + creative)

My teacher briefly flicked through and showed us exemplar belonging essays, and that allowed me to get an idea of the standard required

Then I just made up my own ideas coz there was nothing to go off. Look at the discovery rubric on bostes
