The essay is better imo, the questions are basically the same every year and it’s so easy to prepare for. but the exam is easy as a whole. i think there’s gonna be some short answer plate about the environment

eugene von guerard, emily kam kngwarreye, ai wei wei and kazamir malevich are my main ones, but ive also been looking at pacita abad, yayoi kusama and vincent namatjira just to have enough examples haha

I know. My teacher was telling everybody to just study three, and its actually not enough for me.

for real i get really worried about the gender/culture/time period of all of the artists. i ended up studying like 7 for trials with two artworks each haha

guysss, through out year 11 and 12 ive been told to only use 2 artists (2 art works each), every assessment that evolved an essay? 2 artists with 2 artworks each, everyone in my school for art does that, we even did it in trials. seeing so many people mention minimum 3 artists, im getting nervous about if i should use more than that
(the main theme for my artists is identity,and i want to get a band 6 {overall throughout 11 and 12 got 1st and 2nd in art, with only having 2 artists with 2 artworks each.} these artists i know the most and very well,)

my teacher made us study a ton of different case study areas (5 areas) and for us to pick 2 artists each. but basically im doing abdul abdullah and sherim neshat (if its about activism/challenging/conceptual framework), stelarc and maija tammi if a technology/practices question is what i go for. i also have some more backups e.g. lindy lee, kehinde wiley, nathan beard which i used as the inspirations for my BOW so i still have them.

yes, i do that as well - 2 artists and 2 artworks per essay, do 1 artwork per paragraph so you go for about 4 total, 10 mins each for 40 mins

Okay, I think there are like multiple ways to do well in the VA Essay. Less about more (4, 5, 6, 7 etc.) artists can do well, but great detail and depth about 2 or 3 could be amazing too, and do quite well too.

THE Paper.
I though it was decent. My trial was harder, and the plates were good. The 5 marker was funny. I did Q7 for the essay.

i thought the exam was okay..
i was so slow for my essay (even though it was easy idk) so i rushed my 12 mark short ans -_- why i started with the 5marker i have no clue; i honestly think i lose some of my critical thinking ability in exams its not good

i was able to finish my essay (i srtarted with this), but it took like all my time, and i got to the short answers, and fucked it up so bad. i was freaking out cause of time (question wise, perfectly fine, i understood exactly what i needed to do and stuff), but i miss read the 12 marker, and accidently used plate 4 for question 3 (i used the correct plates for it still tho, it just happened to also be plate 4 too), then i ran out of time for my 5 marker
actually fucked short answers so bad bro, its crazy, my essay and BOW BETTERRRR carry me, causeeeee- im screwed if not

this is why i think no matter what anyone says, it’s better to do the exam in the intended order im sorry it didn’t work out for you, im sure your bow will carry!!!
