so for my mx2 exam there was one easy ass q worth 3 marks that i fked up(js plotting points and naming the shape it makes) because i plot one point wrong accidentally (i read the coordinate wrong, 5 instead of -5) and now im losing 3 marks on this. isnt this kinda unfair mark allocation cos the hardest q of the test was also 3 marks? like how u gonna give a q that actually requires thinking the same amount of value as one that js requires u to plot points and not even apply any 4u knowledge...

like hypothetically smo who gets the last q completely wrong is gettibg thr same percentage as someone who plotted one point wrong by accident as they both lose 3 marks when ones clearly better? isnt tbis mark allocation hella unfair and tbis means that the ranks wont be true teflections of the students abilities which will fuck some ppl over due to a rank that doesnt eveb reflect tbem

honestly, it depends on whatever the marking criteria say, so like if its says u identified most of the points for like 2 marks, then yea that would be unfair

the q just tells u the points and u gotta plot them and write the shape and altogether its worth 3 marks but i lost all 3 cos i graphed one wrong meaning the shape i created was also wrong and therefore i obviously named the wrong shape

but its unfair that its worth the same amount of marks as a hard q for the reasons i stated above

Surely carry error was given for method. My school gave students 1.5 for students who did one tiny error which led them to use the same method for another variable. You should argue those marks.

Nah but this is graphing tho so i dont think ill get them, im just gonna complain and persuade him to make it only worth 1 mark (which is all its worth tbh)

wait so the whole thing was a graph? was there a previous part before the graph that gave you the soln you are then asked to graph in p2?

Nah the q just gave you z and w, you had to graph z, -w, and z conjugate and w=5 but i graphed 5 instead of -5 which led to me getting everything wrong
you were given w=5 and you drew 5 instead of -5. But you were also given z right? so like doesn't that mean you still have those 2 marks (assuming you drew those right?)

No 1 mark for naming the shape 2 marks for graphing and joining points but since i graphed one wrong i obviously joined it wrong too so everythibg gone therr 😭
