Hey,
I live in one of the lowest 25% SES areas, making me eligible to apply for MySydney.
What else is this scheme based on? Year 11 marks? Other economic disadvantages?
I have really high Year 11 marks (was the dux), but no other economic disadvantages other than where I live. Is it likely that I will get MySydney entry into law?

im pretty sure mysydney is just location based and there is no other criteria

USYD have their own criteria too for MySyd as well as the SEIFA criteria

it should be public info, try the usyd website and maybe uac as well

Na my careers advisor told me they haven’t released that criteria. Honestly it makes sense too cause why would they give $24000-36000 to every person coming from a disadvantaged area. Cause everyone would go usyd then and take the scholarship

Year 11 marks dont matter, u have to wait till usyd sends u an official email saying ur eligible for mysydney since some ppl who live in low socioeconomic areas still arent eligible. All u do is put ur desired usyd course first in ur uac preferences then wait till usyd sends an email. Even then ur not guaranteed since u need to get like a specific atar depending on the course. Last time i checked for law it was like 96 but since usyd is competitive u might need higher than that to get the scholarship

I wish they would release the criteria because my sister was eligible for didn't get in, but a friend who lives in the same area got it, so it doesn't really make sense, but they were in different years, so maybe that's why?

sorry for misleading you earlier, i did a bit more research and from a lot of ppl's perspectives the mysydney system is a bit weird and unfair sometimes so i would do further research into it if you can. a piece of advice i got from someone ik that got into usyd with mysydney is to try not to solely rely on it to get into a course as well bc the system is a bit cooked
