aw noooooo but honestly I don't think they should penalise u for one wrong stat, given how many u have to memorise

Guys how do I get my brain to want to study? Like I know I have to study for 2 exams and work on a project for another one, all are due this week and I'm still not really having the motivation to do any. When I try to force myself, I end up just doing like 1/2 an hour of work and that's it.

im in the same position rn, i try and buy myslrf stuff as motivation, for example i do this blindbox method, where i go to popmart/miniso/mooii and buy blindboxes and judginh by how good what i get is, i study that much. for example if i get the one i was hoping for, ill try to study 3-4. hours. if i get something i didnt wanna get, i try to study for atleast 1.5 hours. also pomodoro works really well with me as i get really distracted!

Two things I'd suggest. First, take a look at your goals. If you don't need that high of an ATAR, then there's not much that will convince you to study. If you have an ATAR in mind that is pretty high, then you have no choice but to study. Try to talk to yourself as if there is no way to achieve the goals you have without putting in the work.

Second, try to do things you like and then study. For me, I always enjoyed going for a run before studying. It helped to relax me and convinced me to study more. Even if you can only do 30 minutes at a time, it's better than nothing.

Maybe try a plan like this after school:

Eat (30 min)
Activity you like (30 min)
Study (30 min)
Break (15 min)
Study (30 min)
Activity you like (30 min)
Study (30 min)
Break (15 min)
Dinner and chill (1hr)
Study (30 min)

Following this, you'll get 2hrs of study done each day, which is pretty good as well as 2.5 hrs of relaxing.

This being said, though, at the end of the day, the only thing that will keep you working is discipline. At some point in yr 12 you'll experience a feeling of not being bothered to study, especially when you feel the study isn't getting you the results you want. It's at this point where you either make the breakthrough or you become like everyone else.

I'm doing Grade 5 comprehensive, I think I'm going to get a B+, B or even C+. I was thinking I MIGHT fail, but my teacher said she is 1005 sure that I will NOT fail... it usually depends on the examiner, like my friend did her grade 2 exam and failed it, In my 7-8 years of piano experience, I have never failed before, my pieces are great, my technical exercises and scales are good, my aural is, average, my general knowledge is... bad I think, and my sight reading is bad, but I'm pretty sure the sight reading is only worth 5%, the pieces (songs) and scales are worth half or about most of the exam's grade. My extra lists, one of them is good while the other is like as if I'm sight reading it, but I'm getting there...I practised a lot!

My mother makes me:
Wake up at 7am, study or prac piano for 30 mins. Then after school, if I have exams she'll make me study from 3:00- 5:30pm, then, I take like a 30 minute break,
But if it's like the weekend... it all goes down, she makes me study from 9:00am till like 5:30, It's like I have school on the weekend, especially all the exams are finished, my last exam is i have an AMEB piano exam tomorrow, I have to prepare for it.
Maybe thats cuz I'm Asian, I have to get my exams like PERFECT and i have to be a doctor.. which no.

dw you'll def pass. When I did grade 5 I absolutely flopped the aural, general knowledge and all that stuff but I did fine on the pieces (not amazing but it was ok) and I ended up with a C+ which my teacher was not happy with. I also remember messing up a chromatic scales which was literally the easiest scale lol. But my examiner was kinda strict tho. But as long as u pass you'll be fine cause after that I made a comeback for grade 7 and got an A

It really depends on the examiner, my teacher said she doubts it that I will not fail, which I kind of agree with, Its like...how I will do on the day, I'll do ok I think, but the sight reading.. I'll 90% fail that bit? Why? Cause I'm too... how do I say it... like.. resistant, my teacher always said, "Count it, It does not matter if you get the notes wrong, the notes are only like 1%, as long as you get the rhythm correct, you'll pass the sight reading" BUT. I always want the notes right instead of the rhythm.... my teacher scolds me if I do that.. so I have been studying on how to count, so I'll get better at sight reading.

I also think that you can do AMEB, it helps your ATAR, even IMSS (If you guys know what that is, I do IMSS Flute), so I might try and get my piano exams good scores to help my ATAR, I also even might start violin exams?
