This doesn't involve burning papers but I remember my Yr 8 Science teacher a few years back talking about a Yr 12 taking bio at my school, desperately wanting to change his mark on his exam. Apparently, the students in that class, were able to see their exam paper and marks but had to return it at the end of the lesson so that the teacher could keep an online record of the student's scores. That Yr 12, unhappy with the exam park decided on the following Saturday to enter the school, and it was pretty easy for them with the gates wide open (there was a Saturday/Sunday language classes running at the school). He entered the science staffroom by breaking some glass but got scared that he would get caught changing his mark (basically not matching with what the online record says), so he decided to attempt to steal his paper instead and make it the staff's fault that they lost his paper or smth.
I don't exactly know what happened from there, but I think some science teacher entered the staffroom on the weekend to collect more papers so they could upload more of the student's scores on the online system at home, but when entering the staffroom, the Yr 12 got caught red handed, heavily in trouble + had to cover some of the costs for the broken window.

My school's task 1 english was marked by an external marker instead of an internal marker (a teacher) and obviously I wasn't happy with what I got. I tried to appeal it, but the english faculty said that they couldn't change the mark because they didn't mark it so I burnt it when I got home. They ended up backflipping on the decision and told everyone to hand in their task 1 for remarking again because the faculty realised that the marking was super wack, but it was too late by then. 😭

The worst part is that people who got BBB for their rubric got a 16 while I got a 13 with BAB.
