Anyone got into the UNSW TSP for Science/ Advanced Science?

94.5, haven't heard anything yet, I'm guessing I missed out.

    Help with choosing courses

I'm doing a bachelor of science (advanced science) with a physics major. The classes I know I'm going to take are PHYS1131, PHYS1241 and MATH1131... that adds up to 18 units of credit (UOC). How many UOC should I do during semester 1, and what other classes can I take? As in can I take classes...

    Medical Physics Option

Talked about Marie Curie and her work on radioactivity (although this was not specified in the syllabus). Just generally how the use of radioisotopes works and how it can produce an accurate reliable image, and then tie this in with increased understand of radioactive decay, half-life's etc.

    Medical Physics Option

Agreed, med physics was great, think I got about 22-24/25. Hoping for 90+ raw!

    Multiple Choice

    Oh, fuck. 19/20 now.

    Multiple Choice

Shouldn't 20 be C? The gravitational potential energy is half its initial value, ie it's moving closer to earth. Twice as close, therefore 4 times the gravitational force, right?

    Multiple Choice

It's not a trick question, it moves relative to the observer, who is across the street. It's B

    General Thoughts: Chemistry

I thought so, you gave me a bit of a scare there.

    esimate your mark?

    +1 me too :D

    General Thoughts: Chemistry

Why can't it have been copper (II)?

    Mistake in the exam!

Same conditions, they had the same volume and concentration, so it may still be correct? Also, what was the volume and conc.'s of the electrolytes?

    Mistake in the exam!

I don't think the concentration has anything to do with the values for the standard reduction potentials.

    Calculations in Short Response

Nope, you'd have to multiple by 10, seeing as it was ten times more concentrated before it was diluted by the factor of 10.

    Calculations in Short Response

I got 7 point something for the mass of the nickel, and I can't remember the conc one. For citric acid I got 0.33

    esimate your mark?

Band 6 cut-offs higher or lower this year? Last year was 72, I think.
