I stuffed up my trials pretty badly and now I'm just hoping to atone those poor marks by smashing the externals....say I get 90-95 raw in the external for all my subjects, will that be enough to get at least 93? (hoping for med science at usyd)
Can't help you with your Atar estimate mate, but for General Maths its definitely possible to achieve a band 6....especially if you're in the 85% range....but in saying that General Maths has an extremely small number of band 6's each year so you must pretty much ace the external exam (95/97+)...
Say if you get 75% as your final school mark and theoretically if you get 100 in the externals,
the highest possible hsc mark is 87.5,
is this true?
Also if you are average (70 %) throughout the year but get all band 6's in your subjects, does that mean your Atar will not go above 85?
This is the biggest qualm that i have of the HSC.... you do ok all year, but suddenly at the HSC you get like 95 and the person with a school rank above you will get that mark. I recon that it should solely be based on your external performances (maybe including trials - marks not ranks)
My good fellow, if I may be so bold as to ask a favour from thyself, to kindly give me an ATAR estimate.
My learning institution is ranked around 90-100 and I fear that my trial performances may have undoubtedly hindered my future ambitions.
The subjects undertaken and the performances outcome...
