    Atar Estimate

I reckon you can get 96+ if you can get a band 6 in both your english subjects and another band 6 in one of the others. Since you're ranked first in English that's really going to help you get a good ATAR.

    Is 97+ atar achievable with...

I know this is really late but it might assist people doing the HSC this year. I may as well type it here, before i forget it all together: School: Chatswood High (ranked 82 in 2013 when I did my hsc) Subject HSC marks: Math Ext 1: 94 Math Ext 2: 94 English Adv.: 77 Phys: 92...

For the 2nd short answer page did you guys get: a) Lead Sulphate (I wasn't too sure) b) Ba2+ + 2Cl- --> BaCl2 (with states as aqueous) c) I wrote that you would use a platinum rod and dip it into the solution. A green flame test would indicate copper. Anyone?

What is it like to be at the top?

Not a "super high" achiever or anything. And I'm not really gonna blame any marks I get for the HSC on others, but there are some teachers that don't teach well enough. I know there isn't any surplus of teachers, but some of the teachers I've had have had no excitement to teach. There are some...

Re: Your Inudstrial Chem answers I think the weird part was trying to actually answer the last question properly. I think i provided enough info, but i couldn't manage to completely justify the statement. I talked about the Frasch and Contact processes, and so did a few other people, whereas a...

Re: Your Inudstrial Chem answers I guess you could. For me it felt like a disadvantage because it was so far away. It was like a winding track of like 300km of rail. If you do mention that, as long as you provide a reason it should be treated as correct.

Re: Your Inudstrial Chem answers In the end i put like a summary that: A is closer to the ocean, so wastes can be easily disposed of. It is closer to the town and the Na2CO3 market And finally, I wrote that possibly there are other industries nearby (such as petroleum or natural gas and/or...

Re: Your Inudstrial Chem answers LOL i was actually considering B, because A was "near" the town and the water being dumped would screw up the town. But then i looked at the scale. And i told my self nup.

I said citric acid, and it makes it sour too.

Can someone please explain the calculation questions?

Firstly, it was moles not molar concentration (unless im stupid and i can't remember) Secondly, AgNO3 was limiting as you only started with 0.1 moles of both Pb(s) and AgNO3, but they're in the 1:2 ratio, so if you wanted all the Pb(s) to react, you would need to have 0.2 moles of AgNO3, which...
