haha i wouldn't suggest answering "Law"! Well, at least show that u're open to other possibilities - that u do wanna see wat science professions are like and where would it lead u... (just say that verbatim!) In terms of leadership skills, yeh, past experience is a very good indicator...

From memory, u have to go thru 2 interviews. 1 is with ur Rotary Club, whose sponsorship & approval u need to attend the conference. Then u go to a group interview, where they will select the suitable candidates. I'm not exactly sure on the stats, but i THINK it's 1 in 5 applicants...

Those are all very good points made there. Indeed, self-motivation & hard work is very very important if u wanna get high marks. About the value of tuition, the need for it, & the "effects of spoonfeeding", i think it's very dependent on the individual. You sound like u're a smart...

Oh soz, din answer all ur questions b4. Textbooks.. ell, the one i got atm is Conq Chem. It's pretty good in having succinct info, and most of the info u need. However, it is not entirely comprehensive - it is missing some bits, and has some bits u dun need (as does all text books)...

Well, i've got 4 year 12 students atm, and i've had them for the whole year now... and they seem to quite like it. I recently asked one of them if it was worth it, and he said "well, that's why i keep coming!" I know plenty of tutors who charge for more than $40... 3 of my friends charge...

G'day folks soz u guys i haven't been checking the msgs very regularly been pretty busy recently, especially with the HSC exams coming up... been tutoring 9-3 on the weekend, and only just finished (2 students) today. I live in Strathfield, so yeah... hope it's close enuf for ya. My HSC...
