oh and i think you'll find you can get a csp place AND centrelink for the whole 8 years. Because you're doing an undergrad degree, followed by a grad degree. Go for it. Would be fantastic.
Yeah simbim. I agree with Aussie - although I usually agree with her on most things, so that's nothing staggering lol.
But seriously - don't panic. I found the UMAT stuff hard when i first started. It is supposed to be hard. Few people find the practise stuff a piece of piss. I ended up doing...
they're taking out physics for next year, but not chem. Pre-requs will be English, Chem and I think Maths B (and its interstate equivalents - i'm a QLDer). Check on the maths though, I'm not sure.
And of course - all the academic and UMAT requirements
yeah i know what you mean. And it's such a long long journey to become a consultant. You know, I'm kinda glad I'm well used to doing menial repetitve tasks in relation to the health care context. Ie - I already know it's not that exciting.
One pre-consultant job I thought looked pretty good...
yeah 100th percentile on section one and three is fantastic. I think section two is a lot more difficult to study for generally. But sect one and two I think can be greatly improved by good prep. However - everybody - please don't think I'm saying Med entry is better than other prep courses -...
Oh sorry sweetheart! Just couldn't resist that one..
Ya I know what you mean re interns. They get less respect than I do at work. Doesn't life get better as a reg though?
Hi!
I'm a UMAT sitter of 2006 and a successful one! I endorse Med Entry. I don't un-endorse any of the other prep courses, I just haven't done them. Only done MedEntry.
I recommend that you sign up for MedEntry and read through all their stuff - that will give you a great background on...
the only shite thing about the griffith course is that the last two years are full fee. I think that's a bit dodgy actually. But - your point about getting the degree in 3 yrs is useful if you still intend to try for med.. and if you don't make it - then you've got the dentistry to fall back on.
it is offline due to the prep course debate. It is likely to go back on, but with all material pertaining to prep courses deleted, and no one will be allowed to discuss prep courses at all or even mention them. that's why I just wondered why it's ok to say negative things about a umat prep...
i just finished a degree in Nursing. But I'm not a very good person to ask, as I'm about start med. Nursing is ok. The pay is not that bad compared to a lot of other areas of work - but you'll probably never earn more than about 80k/year at the peak of your career.
I enjoyed studying nursing...
