My school also does HSC over two years (11 and 12) - mainly, I've been told, because we're a small school and can't afford to run every subject every year considering that only one or two people might do a subject in one year. I think there's only around 70 people in year 11 and 12...

This is crazy. BOS should die. How would I contact the Bored of Studies? I mean, I know there's probably no hope of getting it changed...but it would be better if they could explain it to me to make me feel less like I was cheated.

I was ranked first for my assessment mark. so this means I got the highest HSC exam mark as my assessment mark?? That technically means the highest exam mark was 83....which I highly doubt.

I'm so confused about assessment mark scaling at the moment. My raw mark was 94 but in my results I got an 83 assessment mark. How on earth does this work? I'm really disappointed as I tried really hard and came first in English Advanced... Does anyone understand how it works?

In my ancient history trial, I wrote 2.5 A4 pages and my friend wrote 5 and we got the same mark (22/25)... Even though I worry that I never write enough...I've started to realise that it really is quality over quantity with longer responses. You have to be sussinct. Rambling isn't going to get...

Oh I would be screwed if they asked for 3 related texts...as I only basically have 2. Is that bad??? I hope they ask for 2 prescribed and 2 related. I'm definitely prepared for that. Especially for the prescribed. I know them really well. Just...not...related.

Whats requesting for exam scripts??? As in getting them back with the marks on them? :O I want to do this if thats the case.

:O:O SAME! For my trial I got 14.5/15 for my story and this time I think I probably got around 12. I somehow forgot all my awesome descriptions and language techniques and blah. NOT good.

Accelerated as in top Advanced class or accelerated as in extension english. Yes to both.

Haha. OK. DEFINITELY FEELING BETTER NOW. I'm doing the Crucible and its driving me insane...and I know everything for the prescribed and then only two related and it just hit me that maybe we need three and... major sigh of relief.:skip:

Feeling so much better now. Thanks guys. Does this mean if they ask for three the whole entire state will literally start swearing in the middle of the exam room?? Who actually has three prepared?

Haha, if I attempt to do that its illegible scrawl. But I know, some of my friends do that and they tell me after the exam and I'm like "oh hell, I failed" but then I don't Frankly its quality over quantity.

Of course if they ask for just two or just three (if they would do that) you'd write about the specified number...but as I'm a slow writer and tend to write better about only two texts than I do trying to fit in three...I think I might do better. GAH. Its tomorrow. I'm not ready for this :)

For the essay...does it matter whether you use two or three related materials if they say "at least two"? You wouldn't get marked down for using the minimum number of related texts, would you?

SAME! If I had to keep going back to every text in each paragraph/point I made I'd get confused about what I had said and what I haven't said -- I'm glad I found someone who is doing it the same way as me :) So I take it you're doing only two related texts too??
