i think you need to look at it more simply. if you look at it as something that cant be defined, how are you going to assess the conventions. the conventions of crime fiction are its defenitions in some way....thats what ithink anyway

in the creativce writing, they are looking into how well we can incorprate what we've learnt in terms of genre and crime fiction. whats the point of writing a brilliant story if it doesnt even use the conventions. its not a cliche, they is still ways u can manipulate the conventions and subvert...

you could probably do that, but you would have to be a really strong writer to be able to hold the use of conventions in only the beginning of a story. i normally go for a general cf story cos its easier to use all the conventions, but thats me. like i said, it depends on how well you write.

generally, we should prepare with one story just exploring the conventions, one about a character of the perscribed text or even a spin off sort of peice from one of the perscribed texts. i dont think they'll specify it too much cos it'll take away the "creativity" of it.....i hope anyway...

juss shits me that we studies so much (well i did.....sorta) and the least they could have done was give us questions that actually matter to the point the syllubus is trying to teach us instead of just being tricky with the way they make the exam to make us suffer.....

it felt like a friggin CAFS exam with the ethic question and the social justice framework question (for those who do cafs, they'll get me)......i was sitting there writing my essay and half way through i realised im starting to talk about cafs stuff.....:| :|

lol....thanks. im just glad its over, i have one more exam to go and then its over for me.......my exmas dont even go into november!!!!! i'm so happy now that its over.....i was stressing for pd.....but it wasnt as bad as the legal studies thing......our exam inspector person was saying that...

the protective equipment thing is in the syllubus on the 'students learn to' thingio.....but man my head waskilling me when i got to the options. i was the last one out, we have 4 peole in our class and 3 of them left within the forst hour.......i rekon i'm screwed in that exaM :'(
