i disagreed with the question because it said "to what extent". if it said "discus..." or "how..." then that would imply an understanding of Quick's characterisation is imperative to the question. also, the fact that it said "your PERSONAL reading" means you can pretty much say whatever you like...

our teacher tells us to put our selves out there, be brave and resist the question. so thats what i did. and also it was "to what extent blah blah blah Quick"... so i basically set up my argument saying that he didn't... my reading circled around Fish...

to be honest, i thought it was pretty lousy. like in comparison to past years papers etc. it was just too specific. our trial was a ZILLION times better and i didn't do as well as i'd hoped in THAT.. so that's a bit of a worry. hopefully my assessment marks pull me up :P oh, and modules.

i have my trial for frext tomorrow and my wavering thoughts led to the wonder, if you don't get a top band result for your oral, but do for everything else (ie. the written paper), will it be of great effect/detriment to the overall mark?? in other words, should i be freaking out?

i totally feel your pain... i am in a similar situation and am contemplating quite seriously dropping ext 1... i loved the prelim course but now, as much as i love postmodernism, i feel totally out of the loop. i have done a term and half of it now and did quite well in our first assessment but...

Hmmm ok. well i guess that all makes some sense but it is still really annoying because at this rate i will miss out on getting into my course by anywhere between 0.05-2.00 marks... but then i guess if everyone else is in the same boat the entry marks for each course will change accordingly...

i was just on SAM and filled in some of the marks i hope to get and even as i changed them around, made them higher/lower etc. i noticed one thing... my mark would have been the highest in 2001... every time, my lowest mark was 2003, followed by 2002 then 2001... does that mean the UAI is...
