Plants cannot feel pain. They do not have a nervous system to send pain signals or a brain to perceive them.
BUT
Let's assume they DO feel pain
This supports veganism .
Far less plants are 'killed' though a vegan diet :)
You are paying them money, which supports the animal agricultural industry
I can give a $100 donation to ISIL. Surely they won't kill an extra person because of it.
However the action is still immoral
Next point
1. Plants are not sentient. They do not feel pain
2. Let's suppose that plants...
Why should a police officer even bother stopping a robbery ? It's not going to stop all crime?
You avoiding meat DOES do something. One less animal is killed.
Another thing is, more and more people are going vegan, and I'm sure this collective increase has done something indeed (coupled with...
Minimise the suffering and death of animals?
Didn't know this :o
But again,
No beef = no global warming
No beef = no food shortage (if we grew grains to feed Humans directly, instead of feeding it to animals, we would have an insane amount of food)
No beef = no water shortage (the amount of...
Are vegan diets morally superior to both omnivorous and vegetarian diets?
I say yes
I agree with you in terms of health benefits
It only seems marginally better to become vegan if you are already a health consious person (mortality rates)
Vegetarianism is different
In a modern context , drinking milk (which is acceptable if you are vegetarian) does more harm to animals than actually eating meat
I don't see why people are vegetarian. (Religious reasons aside, but that's another story)
But is there a single argument against veganism? Seems better for ur health Enviro etc
Also convinced that it follows from basic human rights (if u believe in universal human rights u should so be vegan using same logic)
This being said I'm eating pizza now cause I'm addicted
