The university of Sydney hold an orientation day for ACCESS students, and I was wondering if anything in particular happens at the orientation day, or is it just like a normal orientation day?

You should check "correspondence" on your UAC page. It should have a letter file which acknowledges your offer into your desired course. If not, then I'm sure you can request one without any problems.
